The 13th Workshop on Uncertainty Processing
Třešť, Czech Republic, June 4-7, 2025
A series of Workshops on Uncertainty Processing (WUPES) has been held in Czechia every third year since 1988. Proceedings from several previous workshops can be found on their websites ( WUPES'22, WUPES'18, WUPES'15, WUPES'12, WUPES'09, and WUPES'06).
Like the previous meetings the forthcoming workshop will foster creative intellectual activities and the exchange of ideas in an informal atmosphere. Therefore we aim at a limited number of participants (30-40).
We invite submissions of papers on Uncertainty in Artificial Intelligence, Bayesian Networks, Conditional Independence, Stochastic Analysis, Algebraic Statistics, Information-Theoretical Inequalities, Combinatorial Methods for Secret Sharing, Fuzzy Analysis, Machine Learning, Decision Theory, Management Science, and related fields.

Special Issue
We plan to organize a special issue of the international journal Kybernetika dedicated to WUPES'25 after the workshop. For this special issue, all selected papers will undergo a regular reviewing process.
Kybernetika, established in 1965, is published by the Institute of Information Theory and Automation of the Czech Academy of Sciences. It is indexed in both Web of Science and Scopus, reflecting its contribution to the fields of computer science, system engineering, applied mathematics, and related interdisciplinary areas. The journal publishes freely available articles at no charge, providing a platform for high-quality research accessible to a global audience. With an impact factor of 0.9 in 2023, Kybernetika continues to uphold its reputation for excellence in research dissemination.

Venue
The WUPES 2025 conference will take place in Třešť Castle, a magnificent historic site located in the heart of the Vysočina region, a scenic area celebrated for its rolling hills, forests, and cultural landmarks. The castle, originally a medieval fortress, has been transformed through Renaissance and Baroque architectural styles and now serves as a center for academic and research activities under the Czech Academy of Sciences. The serene castle park, with its ancient trees and beautifully maintained gardens, provides a tranquil retreat for conference participants.
Třešť itself is a charming town with a rich history, offering a unique atmosphere where tradition and modernity meet. The region is also home to numerous excursion opportunities. A highlight is the nearby UNESCO World Heritage Site of Telč, just 24 minutes away by train. Telč is renowned for its stunning Renaissance square lined with colorful arcades and historical buildings, making it an ideal destination for a conference excursion.
For nature enthusiasts, the surrounding Českomoravská Highlands provide ample trails and breathtaking landscapes, perfect for exploration. We are excited to welcome you to WUPES 2025 in this inspiring setting, where you can engage in academic discussions while experiencing the cultural and natural richness of Třešť and its surroundings.
