Venue
The WUPES 2025 conference will take place in the charming town of Třešť, located in the heart of the Vysočina region, a scenic area celebrated for its rolling hills, forests, and cultural landmarks. Known for its rich history, Třešť offers a unique atmosphere where tradition and modernity meet, making it a perfect location for this conference on decision-making and learning.
A key highlight of Třešť is the magnificent Třešť Castle, originally a medieval fortress that has since been transformed through various architectural styles, from Renaissance to Baroque. Today, the castle serves as a center for academic and research activities, owned by the Czech Academy of Sciences. The serene castle park offers visitors a tranquil retreat with its ancient trees and beautifully maintained gardens, ideal for relaxing walks or moments of quiet reflection.
In winter, Třešť comes alive with its long-standing tradition of nativity scenes, or “betlémy”. Local families display intricately hand-carved nativity sets, an art passed down through generations, providing a unique glimpse into Czech folk traditions and craftsmanship. Visitors during the holiday season can explore this festive cultural experience, widely appreciated by locals and tourists alike.
The region also offers numerous excursion opportunities. Just a short drive away is the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Telč, famed for its Renaissance square lined with colorful arcades and historical buildings. Another nearby destination is Jihlava, known for its medieval charm, architectural sights, and vibrant arts scene. For nature enthusiasts, the surrounding Českomoravská Highlands provide ample trails and natural beauty, perfect for exploration.
We look forward to welcoming you to WUPES 2025 in this inspiring setting, where you can immerse yourself not only in the conference's academic discussions but also in the cultural and natural richness of Třešť and its surroundings.
